Orafol Americas Inc. is seeking an Assistant Tech 1 for our plastics extrusion operations in Connecticut. You will support the extrusion line by packing finished goods, stacking sheets, and wrapping rolls in accordance with packaging specifications.

You’ll learn to clean line equipment, label processes, and handle required paperwork while developing forklift skills and safe work practices. This role requires teamwork, reliability and a willingness to train and grow within the facility.

Responsibilities

Plastics Extrusion candidates wanted to operate machines to create rolled extruded specialty materials. Full Time for 12 hour shifts including every other weekend. We have Day 7 AM-7 PM and Night 7 PM to 7 AM shifts available. Work shifts operate on a Week 1 or 2 schedule so you know your scheduled work days for entire year in advance (always same AM or PM hours)! Must be dependable, eager and willing to learn. We are willing to train the right candidates. Mechanical ability a plus, prior plastics experience also a plus. Hourly rate starting at base of $20 hr, night shifts include an additional differential. Pay rates are commensurate with experience. They will be responsible for cleaning equipment necessary to run the line. Ie. hoppers, blenders and bins. They will learn labelling and what paperwork is required. They will be certified on the forklift to move goods around the extrusion floor.The Assistant Tech must follow directions willingly and to the best of their ability. They must be a team player.There is also a physical component for this position. Material handling is available to do all heavy loading / lifting.The Assistant Tech must be capable of climbing ladders to load materials and to handle containers that weigh up to 35 Lbs on a regular basis or containers that can weigh up to 50 Lbs on an infrequent basis.The Assistant Tech is responsible for housekeeping in their area and following All safety policies and procedures, plus recommending changes to enhance equipment performance and improve safetyEssential functionsSafe operation of all Orafol manufacturing equipment.Certified to drive and operate Orafol Fork Trucks within the Plant.Understand and wear all required Personal Protective Equipment.Comply with all OSHA regulations and Company Policies.Complete all paperwork/documentation accurately and completely.Follow all procedures, instructions, and specifications in performing their jobs.
