Job summary

Ring Container Technologies in Michigan is seeking a Production Operator to join the operations team. You will follow safety policies, wear PPE, participate in monthly safety training, and help maintain equipment for optimal OEE and quality.

You will also perform changeovers with minimal downtime, document downtime and production data, and ensure proper labeling and housekeeping to meet customer expectations.

Job Purpose

Key Responsibilities and Duties

Responsible for obeying all company safety policies and procedures.

• Wear proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when entering the production area.
• Participate in monthly safety training as scheduled and provided by the company.
• Report all unsafe acts or conditions to Supervisor immediately.
• Report accidents to Supervisor immediately.
• Obey all machine guards and safety warnings.
• Follow Lock out / Tag out policy.
  Ensure the safe and efficient operation of all equipment to meet or exceed company established Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) expectations and quality expectations.
• Proactive in addressing unsafe conditions on production equipment.
• Maintain documentation to support production.
• Proactive in addressing inefficiencies of production equipment.
  Perform scheduled preventative maintenance tasks.
• Proactive in addressing machine inefficiencies during preventative maintenance.
• Ensure equipment is clean after preventative maintenance is performed.
• Continually evaluate equipment for improvement areas.
  Perform scheduled production equipment changeovers.
• Perform scheduled changeovers with limited downtime.
• Ensure production equipment is in safe and efficient operating condition after each changeover.

Communicate problems and continuous improvement ideas to Supervisor.

Responsible for producing and/or packaging the best quality product at all times.

• Ensure all production meets established quality standards.
• Perform routine inspections as prescribed by process procedures.
• Ensure all production is properly labeled and/or tagged.
• Ensure all non-standard products are placed on hold with proper documentation completed.

Promote and participate in good housekeeping habits to ensure plant appearance exceeds management and customer expectations.

• Maintain a clean work area at all times.
  • Empty all garbage cans in work area at the conclusion of assigned shift.
  • Sweep production floor in work area.
  • Clean equipment if it becomes dirty or stained during shift operation.
• Proactive in addressing housekeeping issues on the production floor and production equipment.
  Responsible for maintaining appropriate documentation during the shift.
• Perform necessary operator checklists.
• Maintain accurate production reporting documentation.
• Document downtime.

Physical Activity Required:

Climbing:
