Job summary

Sealed Air Corporation in Keyser, WV, is seeking an Extruder Operator for the night shift to support setup and operation of polyethylene extrusion machines in the film production area, following ISO 9001:2008 guidelines.

Pay is $23.00 per hour. The role requires a high school diploma, prior extruder experience, forklift ability, and the capacity to lift up to 75 pounds. You will assist in maintenance, monitor quality, and record production data.

Qualifications

• Forklift and material handling ability.
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds as needed.
• Operate a computer terminal; follow written instructions.
• Satisfactory Extruder B skills test; prior Extruder B/C experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist in startup and operation of extruders to minimize downtime and align with production schedule.
• Set and monitor extrusion controls including pressure, speed, tension and heat.
• Monitor material flow; weigh and store finished film and scrap material.
• Assist maintenance with installation and testing of equipment; clean machinery and work areas.
• Record production time and output on required forms; follow ISO 9001:2008 procedures.

Job Description

ROLE PURPOSE: Perform duties to assist in the setup and operation of multiple polyethylene extrusion machines and auxiliaryequipment to produce film to meet quality and production requirements within the extruder department asstated in ISO 9001:2008 work instructions.

Pay: $23.00

Shift: Night

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Assist in the startup and operation of extruders to minimize downtime or disruption of schedule. Workfrom assigned schedule, or work orders, and assist in making decisions as to the sequence of setupsand processes within recognized methods and procedures.
• Obtain work instructions and follow prescribed procedures to assist in setting or monitoring a limitednumber of barrel, auger, extruder and related forming / winding controls such as pressure, speed,tension, and heat. Assist in moving and positioning nip rollers, winder shafts, and hot knives asrequired for proper operation. Assist in arranging scrap recovery rolls or containers in proper feedposition. Perform all necessary machine adjustments, including die adjustments, blender settings, etc.
• Operate equipment or monitor continuing operations to maintain proper flow of raw and scrap filmmaterial and forming, cutting, and winding operations. Remove completed work, make tolerance and/ormeasurement checks as required. Identify material, weigh, and place in designated storage or workarea.
• When required, assist maintenance in installation and testing of new or existing equipment. Willperform other similar or related duties as assigned or directed, including cleaning machinery and workareas.
• Advise supervision or maintenance of malfunctions resulting in defective material, ie. wrinkles, gels,blocking, port lines, splits, discoloration or other related problems.
• Maintain and update assigned records. Assure that time and production information is properlyrecorded on required forms. Access work instructions as prescribed by the ISO 9001:2008 standard.
• Ability to fill-in for Extruder "A" and Extruder "C" role as needed.
• Follow all prescribed safety rules. Perform other similar or related duties as assigned.

5. Previous Extruder "C" and "B" experience
