Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Extrusion Operator to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining plastics extrusion equipment, ensuring high-quality production, and adhering to safety standards. This role offers an opportunity to work within a dynamic environment that values precision, efficiency, and continuous improvement in plastics manufacturing processes.
These are 12‑hour shifts, days or nights, rotating schedule. Work half the year! Holidays may be included on the work schedule.
Day shift – 6:45 am to 7:00 pm: $17.00/hr
Night shift – 6:45 pm to 7:00 am: $18.00/hr

Duties
- Set up, operate, and monitor plastics extrusion machinery to produce high‑quality extruded products.
- Perform routine inspections of extruded materials using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers and calipers.
- Adjust machine settings based on process requirements and quality standards, utilizing programmable logic controllers (PLCs) for automation control.
- Conduct troubleshooting and minor maintenance on extrusion equipment, including press brake machines, CNC lathes, CNC machines, and fabrication tools.
- Handle materials safely using proper materials handling techniques and equipment such as forklifts when necessary.
- Perform quality checks throughout the production process to ensure products meet specifications and standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area in compliance with safety protocols and lean manufacturing principles.
- Assist with fabrication, assembly, or other related tasks involving plastics blow molding, injection molding, or machining processes as needed.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in plastics extrusion or related manufacturing environments.
- Mechanical knowledge of manufacturing equipment including press brake machines, CNC lathes, CNC machines, and hand tools.
- Familiarity with PLCs, material‑handling equipment such as forklifts, and fabrication techniques.
- Skills in quality inspection using micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring instruments.
- Basic math skills for measurements and process adjustments.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles to promote efficiency and waste reduction.
- Experience with plastics blow molding, injection molding, machining, or fabrication is a plus.
- Warehouse experience or familiarity with materials handling is advantageous.
- Ability to work safely in a fast‑paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
