VIP Staffing in San Marcos, TX is hiring an Extruder Machine Operator to support our manufacturing team. The role operates extrusion machines to shape plastics or metals into pipes, tubes, and profiles, with emphasis on safe, efficient production.

The position offers two shifts with pay: 1st shift at $26/hr plus $1 rotating differential and 2nd shift at $26/hr plus $1 rotating differential and $1 night differential.

Qualifications

• Experience operating extrusion machines in manufacturing.
• Knowledge of calibration, temperatures, pressures and speeds.
• Ability to perform quality inspections with calipers or micrometers.

Responsibilities

• Setup and Preparation: Select, assemble, and install correct dies, and calibrate machine settings (temperature, pressure, speed) based on material specifications and product requirements.
• Feeding Material: Load raw materials into the extrusion machine, which may include pellets, powders, or liquids, depending on the extruder type and materials used.
• Operate and manage extrusion machines to produce high-quality products efficiently.
• Monitor the extrusion process, making adjustments to machine settings as necessary to maintain product quality and production efficiency.
• Conduct quality control inspections and tests, utilizing instruments like calipers and micrometers to ensure product specifications are met or exceeded.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues with extrusion machines, including clearing blockages and making minor repairs.
• Maintain accurate production records and logs of machine settings, maintenance activities, and quality control outcomes.
• Adhere to safety protocols and procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment and maintaining a clean work environment.
• Collaborate with the production team to meet production goals and enhance processes.

We are now hiring for an Extruder Machine Operator for a Manufacturing company in San Marcos, TX. These positions are starting ASAP.

Pay:

• 1st shift - $26/hr + $1/rotating shift differential
• 2nd shift - $26/hr + $1/rotating shift differential + $1/night shift differential

Schedule:

• (2nd shift will start on 1st shift for training and then transition to 2nd shift).
• 1st shift (rotating schedule): 6am-6pm. Monday, Thursday & Friday one week, the next week Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday.
• 2nd shift (rotating schedule): 6pm-6am. Monday, Thursday & Friday one week, the next week Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday.

• Basic mechanical skills for maintenance and repairs.
• Excellent communication and teamwork capabilities.
• Physical stamina: ability to stand 100% of the time, lift up to 50 pounds, and perform manual tasks.
• Commitment to safety as a top priority.
• High school diploma or equivalent; trade school education is a plus.
• Professional, organized, dedicated, and punctual.
• Capability to perform work in industrial facilities, including walking, bending, reaching, and gripping tools during the eight hours shift.
