Job summary

Ultimate Medical Academy, a non-profit healthcare education institution, seeks a Career Services Externship Coordinator to partner with employers and place students in externships. This fully remote role supports graduates and works with career advisors.

You will build employer partnerships, guide placement challenges, and report to department leadership. The position emphasizes compliance with regulations and flexible hours including evenings/weekends.

  • Build Employer and Community Partnerships: Establish and maintain effective relationships with corporations, non-profits, government organizations, and community partners to promote externship opportunities for students and graduates.
  • Support Team Reporting: Update department leadership for meetings and support stakeholder use of relevant reporting and data.
  • Collaborate with career advisors to support students' career goals.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

Ultimate Medical Academy is a non-profit healthcare educational institution with a national presence. Headquartered in Tampa, Florida and founded in 1994, UMA offers content-rich, interactive online programs as well as hands-on training at our Clearwater, Florida campus.

Purpose of the Position:

The Career Services Externship Coordinator is responsible for partnering with external employers to facilitate externship placement opportunities for students and graduates.

What you’ll do:

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in career services or a related field is preferred.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other business tools such as Microsoft Teams.
Compliance:
  • Demonstrate knowledge of and carefully follow all applicable federal and state compliance requirements and regulations including those prescribed by the U.S. Department of Education, accrediting agencies, state regulation, and internal policies and procedures.
  • Effectively communicate compliance requirements to other staff as appropriate and quickly elevate any compliance concerns to the Compliance department.
Work Environment/Physical Demands:
  • This is a fully remote position.
  • Home office set up, quiet place to work, and ability to hard wire into high-speed internet connection.
  • May require setup of computer equipment, accommodation consideration available upon request.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends, as needed.

Anticipated starting salary is based on experience and qualifications.

Compensation Range

$20 - $22 USD
