Job summary

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of controls/controllers and PLCs.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD Electrical.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Salary Range: $80,000-$90,000

Responsibilities

  • Concept, design, develop and engineer products that add value and are a solution to customers and market needs.
  • Collaborate and review with others on the development team to develop products.
  • Ensure products developed fit with current and future manufacturing operations.
  • Ensure products developed meet competitive and market demands for performance and cost.
  • Specify and develop a sequence of operations of automated equipment.
  • Prepares schematics and specifications for control panel fabrication.
  • Develop Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) programs.
  • Maintain product develop schedules and cost estimates.
  • Follow established engineering standards and best practices including software revision control.
  • Perform prototype development and testing.
  • Perform on site beta testing to ensure safety, reliability, and other performance metrics are met.
  • Investigate product issues in the field and determine root cause.
  • Domestic travel up to 40% in North America, mostly within the Continental United States.

Job Summary

Develops new products for material handling applications including conveyors, sortation, automated storage, order fulfilment, and robotic systems. Includes development of specifications, device layout drawings, control schematics, PLC logic. May work with support of more senior engineers. Works closely with the overall team to design systems meeting the product requirements. Uses creativity and innovation to design the standard product offering.
