Job summary

Google Cloud Communications is seeking a proactive communications professional to collaborate with cross-functional teams, journalists and thought leaders. You will develop materials and campaigns to tell the story of how Google Cloud helps customers innovate.

You will engage with executives and influencers, maintain media relationships, and support U.S.-focused PR initiatives across national and local media while coordinating with PR, Communications, Marketing and Product teams.

Minimum qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 4 years of experience in communications, public relations, or public affairs.

Preferred qualifications

• Experience working on large events and projects that require cross-functional collaboration.
• Experience working in various areas of public policy and the energy industry or ability to quickly learn complicated and nuanced spaces.
• Ability to develop and maintain media relationships across business and technology press.
• Ability to use and adopt AI tools in the work.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling narratives and build relationships with key stakeholders.
• Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.

About The Job

As a member of the Google Cloud Communications team, you will collaborate with other cross-functional teams to communicate with journalists and thought leaders, develop specific communications materials and devise thought leadership campaigns. You'll understand the power of Google's Cloud products and tell the story of how we help our customers innovate. You'll engage in face-to-face meetings with internal executives and external opinion formers, and develop print and web-based materials supporting these campaigns.

As a key member of the Google Cloud Communications team, you will work cross-functionally on the execution of key U.S.-focused PR campaign initiatives that support Google's global infrastructure. Working closely with the U.S. energy campaign manager, you will help educate the market on the economic and societal benefits of the physical infrastructure that powers Google's products and services around the world, driving stories in local, state, and national media. Additionally, you will maintain strong relationships with journalists and influencers; develop written materials and messaging; and help project-manage aspects of the campaign. A major part of the role is moving fast, while collaborating effectively with multiple teams across the organization.

We help inform and educate users, advertisers, partners, opinion leaders--and our own employees--about the benefits of Google's products, our distinctive company culture/values and our approach to the big public policy issues of the day. You are quick-witted, entrepreneurial and intellectually curious. To succeed in this role, you are willing to try new things and can manage numerous projects with tight deadlines. Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

US: $116000 - $166000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits
