Job summary

Winston Taylor, a transatlantic law firm, seeks a Senior Manager, External Communications to lead the Americas-based public relations program and elevate the firm’s reputation and leadership. You’ll design and execute integrated media relations, manage high-profile opportunities, mentor staff, and partner with practice leaders, strategy, and brand teams.

This role requires senior-level communication skills, crisis readiness, and the ability to influence across the firm to drive business

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, journalism, marketing, or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in communications, media, and/or public relations, preferably in a legal or professional services environment.
• Ability to manage senior stakeholders and lead external communications programs.

Responsibilities

• Act as a key strategic business partner to stakeholders. Design and implement external marketing communication programs and PR strategy to support firmwide objectives and align with Business Development priorities and events.
• Develop and execute proactive media campaigns that generate impactful earned media coverage across legal, business, industry, and mainstream media outlets.
• Independently manage high-profile media opportunities, sensitive communications matters, and complex stakeholder situations; escalate as appropriate.
• Manage external PR agencies with budgeting, evaluation, and reporting.
• Build and maintain senior-level relationships with key journalists, editors, producers, and industry influencers.
• Collaborate with Europe-based external communications team for unified transatlantic strategy.
