Job summary

Venus Aerospace Corp. is seeking an External Communications Specialist to tell the company story across earned and owned channels.

This hands-on role centers on writing, with opportunities to engage with engineers and executives to translate complex propulsion work into clear storytelling. You will collaborate with the Communications team to develop stories about our technology, people, tests and milestones, while building media relationships and shaping Venus-owned content.

Qualifications

• Excellent writing and editing skills across formats and audiences.
• Ability to translate complex technical topics into clear, credible messaging.
• Interest in media relations and willingness to pitch reporters.
• Curiosity and eagerness to learn technical subject matter.

Responsibilities

• Write and edit media pitches, announcements, web copy and social content.
• Support day-to-day media relations, including reporter research and pitching.
• Identify stories behind Venus technology, programs and milestones.
• Develop and execute owned storytelling across Venus channels.
• Interview engineers and executives to translate technical work into compelling storytelling.
• Shape editorial cadence across Venus-owned channels and coordinate with communications priorities.
• Support communications around testing, flight, partnerships, launches, events and other major Venus moments.
• Research reporters and outlets to develop targeted pitches tied to Venus stories.
• Build reporter relationships and take ownership of media relationships over time.
• Track media coverage and surface useful opportunities for the team.
• Maintain media materials and messaging resources for the function.
• Capture basic photo/video for storytelling and collaborate on larger creative needs.
