Job summary

Pentangle Tech Services | P5 Group in Arizona is seeking a Mechanical Engineer with 5+ years of experience in automotive exterior components to drive launch activities at the manufacturing plant.

You will apply CAD skills in CATIA V5, lead DFMEA and DVP&R documentation, and collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to resolve issues and implement design fixes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 5 years of experience in automotive exterior/bumper components.
• Experience with exterior trim components and subsystems.

Responsibilities

• Launch support for exterior automotive components at the manufacturing plant.
• Exceptional knowledge of exterior trim components (bumper, cladding, spoiler, grill, garnish, mudguard, emblem).
• Inspect component quality and identify defects.
• Identify root causes and provide temporary countermeasures.
• Collaborate with cross-functional plant teams to implement permanent design fixes.
• Create CAD proposals in CATIA V5 and manage changes.
• Collaborate with exterior system and supplier teams to support vehicle development milestones and production builds.
• Prepare technical docs including DFMEAs and DVP&R requirements.

Job description

• Launch support of automotive exterior component parts in manufacturing plant
• Excellent product knowledge of Exterior trim components (Bumper, Cladding, Spoiler, Door exterior trim, Front Grill, Garnish, Mudguard, Emblem )
• Check the quality of components and identify defects if any
• Find the root cause of product issues and provide temporary countermeasure
• Work with cross functional team in the plant to find a permanent solution / design fix for ongoing issues
• Create a CAD proposal in Catia V5 and conduct change management
• Collaborate with key exterior system and plastic component suppliers and support overall vehicle development milestones and production build events
• Responsible for technical documentation to include DFMEAs, DVP&R’s Requirements
• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 5 years of experience in automotive exterior / bumper components and subsystem
