PREIT, owner and operator of Springfield Town Center, is seeking a reliable Exterior Maintenance Technician for part-time work. You will help maintain the property's exterior cleanliness and appearance, including sidewalks, walls, and entryways, ensuring a welcoming environment for tenants and visitors.

The role requires outdoor work in variable weather, ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily exterior maintenance tasks around the property, including sidewalks and entryways.
• Pick up litter and debris from outdoor areas.
• Operate pressure washers for exterior surfaces as needed.
• Light painting and touch-up of exterior surfaces.
• Report safety hazards and maintenance issues to supervisor.

Job Overview:

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Part-Time Exterior Maintenance Technician to support the overall appearance and cleanliness of the exterior areas of our property. This role is essential in ensuring a welcoming, clean, and well-maintained environment for tenants and visitors. The ideal candidate will take pride in maintaining high standards of cleanliness and upkeep across the property’s outdoor spaces.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily walk-throughs of the property to identify and address exterior cleanliness needs.
• Pick up litter and debris from sidewalks, parking lots, landscaping, and other outdoor areas.
• Empty and replace liners in exterior trash cans and receptacles.
• Use pressure washer equipment to clean sidewalks, exterior walls, entryways, and other high-traffic areas as needed.
• Perform basic painting and touch-up tasks on exterior surfaces, railings, curbs, and other areas as directed.
• Report any damage, safety hazards, or maintenance issues to the supervisor.
• Assist with seasonal tasks such as leaf blowing, snow removal (if applicable), or de-icing walkways.
• Maintain and store all equipment and supplies in a clean and orderly manner.
• Follow safety procedures and use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Prior experience in exterior cleaning or property maintenance is a plus but not required.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds, bend, stoop, and be on your feet for extended periods.
• Reliable transportation to and from the property.
• Positive attitude and commitment to quality work.

Work Environment

This position requires frequent outdoor work in various weather conditions. Appropriate safety gear and training will be provided.

• Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in building maintenance or a related field
• Valid Driver's License required.
• Ability to communicate information clearly with management, employees, tenants, and external contacts.
• Ability to read and interpret documents, plans and schematic drawings and comprehend instructions.
• Self-starter with ability to work independently.
• 2-year Tech School Graduate or trade certificate is a plus
• Have reliable transportation.
• Prior exposure to building maintenance or vocational training.
• Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds and squat, sit and stand throughout the day.
