Job summary

Cirrus Aircraft Ltd. is seeking an Exterior Finisher TR to learn and master tasks in the Painting area, preparing aircraft for delivery and applying primer, sanding, buffing, and polishing for a smooth finish.

You will also apply cosmetic sealants, install vinyl stripes, and assist with basic assembly and final detailing to meet Cirrus quality standards and customer expectations.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Dependability and a strong work ethic are essential.
  • Experience finishing/painting or similar is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with aircraft painting, primer, sanding, buffing, polishing preferred.
  • Ability to operate sanders, buffers, spray guns with precision.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to inspect work for quality and defects.
  • Manual dexterity for small items and tight spaces.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.

  • Level TR Technicians build expertise in one primary painting area before moving to other processes.
  • Surface preparation: clean, sand, and mask aircraft surfaces for paint.

  • Cosmetic sealant application for protection and aesthetics.
  • Install vinyl stripes with precise alignment and professional appearance.
  • Perform basic assembly tasks as required by engineering drawings.
  • Detailing: final cleaning and inspection before customer delivery.

Job description

Overview

The Exterior Finisher TR is responsible for learning the various tasks that prepare and complete the aircraft for delivery. These include prepping the aircraft for painting, applying primer, and sanding surfaces. After the painting process, the finisher sands, buffs, and polishes the aircraft to achieve a smooth, high-quality finish. Other duties involve applying cosmetic sealants, installing vinyl stripes, handling minor assembly, and performing final detailing to ensure the aircraft meets both quality standards and customer expectations.

Responsibilities
  • Level TR Technicians utilize experience, education, and training to ensure proficiency in one of the primary areas in the Painting area and must master an area before moving into another process area.
  • Surface Preparation: Prep aircraft surfaces for paint by cleaning, sanding, and masking areas to ensure proper adhesion and a smooth finish.
  • Primer Application: Apply primer to aircraft surfaces as part of the preparation process, ensuring even coverage and surface readiness for paint.
  • Post-Paint Finishing: Sand, buff, and polish painted surfaces to achieve a high-quality, smooth finish that meets visual standards.
  • Cosmetic Sealant Application: Apply cosmetic sealants to aircraft surfaces for protection and aesthetic enhancement.
  • Vinyl Stripes Installation: Install vinyl stripes on the aircraft, ensuring precise alignment and a professional appearance.
  • Assembly: Perform basic assembly tasks, such as installing parts and hardware, as required by the engineering drawings.
  • Detailing: Perform final detailing, including cleaning and inspecting aircraft to ensure it meets all quality standards before customer delivery.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Previous work experience demonstrating dependability, reliability and a strong work ethic
  • Previous experience in finishing, painting, or a similar field is highly desirable
  • Familiarity with aircraft painting processes, primer application, sanding, buffing, and polishing techniques preferred
  • Ability to operate tools and equipment such as sanders, buffers, and spray guns, with precision and care
  • Basic ability to use a computer and computer software
  • Basic ability to inspect work for quality, ensuring surfaces are smooth and free of defects
  • Manual dexterity ability to use hands with precision on small items and in small spaces
  • Ability to work in a fast paced team environment

Salary Range: USD $16.55/Hr. - USD $24.82/Hr.
