Job summary

Kansas State University’s Extension seeks a leader to provide statewide oversight of program evaluation, impact assessment, and reporting initiatives in Manhattan, KS. About This Role

Provides statewide leadership for program evaluation, impact assessment, and reporting initiatives for K-State Extension. This position strengthens Extension's ability to demonstrate program outcomes and communicate impact through effective evaluation practices, data-informed decision making, logic model implementation, reporting systems, and continuous improvement strategies. The position provides leadership for Extension's program evaluation framework, supports faculty and staff in developing meaningful evaluation plans and impact reporting, oversees PEARS administration in collaboration with technical support staff, and translates program data into actionable information for Extension leadership, stakeholders, funders, and partners.

What You\'ll Need to Succeed

Minimum Qualifications

  • Requires a bachelor\'s degree and three years of relevant experience.

Education beyond the minimum degree requirement may count toward required experience if deemed relevant by the hiring manager. This degree requirement ensures candidates possess foundational knowledge in agricultural systems, cooperative management and public outreach. These competencies are typically developed and rigorously validated only through the comprehensive curriculum and intensive experiential learning inherent in a formal degree program.

  • Valid driver\'s license

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master\'s degree in program evaluation, evaluation research, extension education, public policy, statistics, data analytics, or related field.
  • Experience designing, implementing, or managing program evaluation processes.
  • Experience developing logic models, evaluation plans, or outcome indicators
  • Experience collecting, analyzing, interpreting, and communicating program data.
  • Ability to translate data into meaningful reports, recommendations, or impact statements.
  • Experience facilitating training or providing consultation to a wide variety of audiences.
  • Strong communication, facilitation, consultation, and training skills; ability to manage complex projects and collaborate across organizational units.
  • Experience working in Cooperative Extension or another outreach/engagement organization, with knowledge of program planning, evaluation, and accountability practices.
  • Experience designing and implementing program evaluation strategies, including logic models, outcome measurement, data collection approaches, and impact reporting.
  • Experience managing or utilizing reporting systems, data management processes, and/or data visualization tools.
  • Knowledge of the PEARS system or similar Extension reporting platforms is preferred.
  • Knowledge of federal reporting requirements and the ability to translate organizational data into meaningful reports for stakeholders, funders, administrators, and partners.
  • Ability to analyze complex information, identify trends, and communicate findings clearly to diverse audiences.
  • Ability to build collaborative relationships, provide consultation, and facilitate continuous improvement across a large organization.

  • This position must exercise independent discretion and judgment in determining reporting requirements for extension professionals, meeting the reporting requirements at the state and federal levels for K-State Extension, and developing training materials for extension professionals.
