Job summary

The World Bank Group in Washington, DC seeks an Extended Term Consultant to support the Regional Statistical Team with advanced distributional analysis, microsimulation, and geospatial poverty assessments. You will work across country engagements, in collaboration with economists and government counterparts.

Key tasks include CEQ assessments, survey imputation, macro-microsimulation for policy evaluation, and geospatial mapping for poverty analysis.

Qualifications

• Master's degree required in Economics, Statistics, or a closely related field.
• Minimum five years of hands-on experience in poverty measurement, distributional analysis, or related statistical work.
• Strong proficiency in Stata, R, or Python with well-documented code.

Responsibilities

• Support CEQ assessments of taxes, transfers, and public expenditures on household welfare.
• Design survey-to-survey imputation and welfare estimation models; ensure reproducibility.
• Develop macro-microsimulation models linking macro projections to household outcomes.
• Apply geospatial methods to produce subnational poverty maps and vulnerability analyses.
