Job summary

Covenant Logistics is seeking an Extended Coverage Account Manager to manage an assigned customer base, perform spot quoting, and resolve shipment issues while driving revenue growth. You will coordinate with Sales, Asset Planning, and Fleet teams to ensure service excellence and on-time performance.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in a related field, strong communication, and the ability to juggle multiple systems and time zones across the United States.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in supply chain, business or similar field required; 1 year experience may substitute for each year of education.
• Prior customer service or logistics experience is highly desired.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Asset Planning and Fleet Management to maximize utilization and revenue.
• Monitor and manage multiple systems for tracking, visibility, and service needs.
• Meet load count goals to drive revenue growth.
• Solicit freight from assigned customer base by phone and email.
• Monitor and report on customer commitments to ensure they are met.
• Ensure customers with drop pools have sufficient equipment to meet demand.
• Trace shipments to ensure on-schedule loads and communicate delays promptly.
• Gather and store load information accurately in the system.
• Research and record service data for internal and external reporting.
• Coordinate with Sales, Asset Planning and Fleet teams to execute load plans.
• Maintain data integrity across programs while handling daily responsibilities.
• Cross train within Extended Coverage team.

Job description

Extended Coverage Account Managers are responsible for managing business from an assigned customer base and performing the daily, hands‑on work required to meet customer satisfaction expectations while driving revenue growth. This role manages existing customer accounts, supports spot quoting based on market conditions, identifies and resolves shipment issues, and ensures strong service execution during non‑standard business hours.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Asset Planning and Fleet Management to maximize utilization and revenue.
• Monitor and manage multiple systems to balance tracking, visibility, and service needs for both asset and non‑asset loads.
• Meet specific assigned load count goals to drive company revenue growth.
• Solicit freight from assigned customer base via phone and email.
• Monitor and report on customer commitments to ensure commitments are met.
• Ensure customers with drop pools have sufficient equipment to meet demand.
• Monitor and trace shipments to ensure loads are running on schedule.
• Provide proactive communication in the event a delay occurs that would affect meeting service requirements.
• Ensure all pertinent load information is gathered and stored within the system accurately.
• Research and record accurate service data to be sued in presentations for internal reporting along with external reporting to customer.
• Coordinate with Sales, Asset Planning and Fleet teams to ensure load plans are executed and customer expectations are met.
• Maintain data integrity in all programs while managing daily responsibilities.
• Cross train within the Extended Coverage team.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

• Excellent communication skills a must; verbal and written.
• Efficient understanding of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word and Excel).
• Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast paced and demanding environment.
• Highly Organized and able to make decisions with good discernment.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Have a good understanding of geography and interstate system in the United States.
• Be able to calculate transit and understand time zones.
• Ability to balance competing priorities across multiple systems.

Education/Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business or similar field required. 1 year of relevant work experience may be substituted for each year of education required.

The posted range reflects the full pay band for the position. The expected pay range below represents where most candidates are hired, based on experience, skills, and internal equity. Candidates with more extensive or highly relevant experience may be considered toward the higher end of the overall pay band.

• Expected Pay Range: $51,640.00-$58,250.20
• Full Pay Range: $51,640.00-$79,828.00
• Pay Grade: 7
