Job summary

Josselyn is hiring an Expressive Therapist in Grayslake, IL to provide clinical services to children, adolescents, and adults. You will be responsible for therapy, crisis intervention, and related administrative duties within a multidisciplinary team.

The role requires a Master’s degree in a human service field, at least one year of post-master’s experience, and strong cultural awareness. A $5,000 sign-on bonus is available for eligible therapists in this location.

Qualifications

• Three professional references reflecting ability to perform clinical work.
• 1 year of post-master’s degree mental health experience required.
• Demonstrated awareness of multiple cultures and cultural impact on service delivery.

Responsibilities

• Provides Therapy, Counseling and Crisis Intervention to Clients and their Families (63% direct service hours per month, 30–35 clients).
• Creates IATP/IMCANs assessments within 30 days of initial meeting and updates records.
• Performs case management and administrative duties; contributes to program planning.
• Conducts client-centered consultations with community providers.
• Maintains progress notes in the medical record within 3 business days of service.
• Ensures compliance with all policies and procedures and keeps weekly schedule current.

Education

Compensation

$50,000–$65,000 salary with a $5,000 sign‑on bonus paid after successful completion of 90 days as determined by the department head and hiring manager with consideration to licensure and experience.

Schedule

Mon/Tue/Wed 11 AM - 9 PM and Thursday 11 AM - 8 PM (4 day work week) OR Tuesday - Saturday, 2 day shifts (9 AM - 5 PM or 10 AM - 6 PM , 2 evening shifts (11 AM - 7 PM or 12 PM - 9 PM) and Saturday 9 AM - 2 PM

Job Summary

The Expressive Therapist is responsible for clinical services provided to children, adolescents and/or adults, as assigned. The clinician is held accountable for all related clinical, administrative, and Quality and Compliance responsibilities.

Essential Responsibilities and Metrics

• Provides Therapy, Counseling and Crisis Intervention to Clients and their Families (provides high-quality service and maintains direct service hours per month of 63% with a minimum of 30-35 clients)


• Creates IMCANS (IATP) Assessment (Completes IATP within 30 days of initial meeting with client, modifies and reviews as needed, updates and records IATP in SmartCare as needed and ensures updates are completed prior to six months due date)


• Case management


• Program planning and development and other administrative work 37%


• Client centered consultation with community providers


• Attendance and participation at clinical presentations


• Use of supervision or consultation when required or needed


• All Progress Notes will be entered into the medical record as soon as possible but in no more than three business days of the date of service


• Compliance with all Policy and Procedures


• Maintain productivity goals as determined by supervisor


• Keep weekly schedule current


• Be responsive to the business office regarding client fees/payments


• Complete requests time off in a timely through the Program Director


• Represent the agency with integrity

Art/DMT Responsibilities

• Assess client needs, using drawing, music, painting, sculpting, theater, movement, or other expressive processes-based interventions.


• Conduct creative or expressive therapy sessions providing guided self-expression experiences to help participants feel an increased sense of wellbeing, connection, improved self-esteem, and empathy for others.


• Establish therapeutic goals or objectives for creative or expressive therapy sessions in consultation with the Clinical Supervisor or Director.


• Request purchase or gather materials for in-studio for sessions.


• If skilled, conduct workshops on techniques of using art in therapeutic relationships in Teaching Artists, interns, volunteers and staff or partner organizations.

Qualifications

• Minimum requirement of a Master’s degree in Art Therapy, Dance movement therapy, Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or another human service-related field.
