Friends Hospital offers a continuum of care including level-of-care assessments; specially designed inpatient units for adolescents, adults, and older adults; and a private residential rehabilitation program. The Expressive Arts Therapist performs duties and responsibilities as a member of the Treatment Team delivering direct patient care services. Under the direction of the Director of Recreational Therapy, creates a therapeutic milieu on the inpatient service; plans and coordinates implementation of specific treatment programs for individual patients and patient groups; assures application of age‑appropriate expressive therapies modalities to group or individual treatment; identifies and utilizes specific theoretical framework to guide and integrate care within the milieu; organizes and coordinates or directs unit‑based psychotherapeutic services delivered in a group (milieu) context; contributes to the development and implementation of treatment plans & goals as determined by the unit team; functions as a member of the Clinical Services team. Participates in the support of patient care through indirect care functions including clerical duties; participates in Performance Improvement and in‑service education; oversees coordination and conduct of clinical affiliations for expressive therapies students; supports development, customer service and community relations activities.
Education Requirement :
Bachelor of Arts required, Master of Arts preferred.
