Job summary

Altrad is seeking experienced pipe fitters to support major UK projects, including nuclear sector opportunities, with competitive NAECI rates and testing opportunities available now. Expressions of interest are invited for 2026 and beyond on nationally significant infrastructure projects.

Candidates should have an apprenticeship in pipefitting or related field, Level 3 qualification, and be committed to safety and quality.

Qualifications

• Completed apprenticeship in pipefitting or related engineering discipline.
• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent or industry-recognised pipefitting certification.
• CCNSG Safety Passport preferred.
• Experience in pipe fabrication and installation in industrial environments.
• Ability to read and work from technical drawings and specifications.
• Experience in power generation, oil & gas, petrochemical, or heavy engineering sectors.
• Strong commitment to safety, quality and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Fabricate, assemble and install metal and plastic pipework systems.
• Cut, bend, shape and fit pipework to required standards.
• Prepare pipework and flanges for welding and installation.
• Carry out quality checks to ensure accuracy and compliance with specifications.
• Install prefabricated pipework on site.
• Operate workshop machinery, tools, overhead cranes and oxy-fuel equipment safely.
• Follow all health, safety and environmental procedures, including Firewatch duties where required.
