Job summary

MaineGeneral Health is seeking an Express Care Registered Nurse to join our Express Care Team in Waterville, ME. The RN will provide direct patient care in an urgent care setting, following nursing processes and organizational policies.

Responsibilities include patient assessment, care plan development, education, and coordination of tests, prescriptions, and insurance. Strong teamwork and critical thinking are essential to deliver timely, compassionate care.

Qualifications

• Active Maine RN licensure or ability to obtain in a timely fashion (RN license required).
• At least 1 year of RN experience preferred.
• Express Care experience preferred.
• Excellent teamwork, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Proven and demonstrated critical thinking skills.

Responsibilities

• Assess symptoms, determine acuity, identify appropriate algorithm/protocol, and develop a treatment plan.
• Provide professional advice, education, and options based on assessment and clinical judgment.
• Dispatch appropriate discipline personnel or emergency response unit when needed.
• Educate patient and/or family appropriate to age and condition; tailor learning needs.
• Coordinate patient care with administrative tasks: scheduling tests, procedures, appointments, and insurance coordination; document interactions.
• Perform follow-up calls to evaluate care effectiveness and need for additional care.
