Job summary

Nevada Department of Agriculture (NDA), Division of Plant Heath and Compliance is seeking to fill one Agriculturist 2 position in the Sparks office. The incumbent will coordinate the Export Phytosanitary Certification Program and the Shipping Point Inspection Program, performing inspections and contributing to regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Two+ years of applicable inspection experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent education.
• USDA accreditation and BIQMS certification within 6 months of hire.
• BIQMS Supervisor verification within one year of hire.
• Ability to perform licensing, inspection, enforcement and certification activities.

Responsibilities

• Conduct inspections with emphasis on export certification and shipping point inspections.
• Assist with nursery inspections and other inspections as assigned.
• Maintain program databases and office records; ensure compliance with USDA regulations.
• Interact with local, state, and federal agencies, communities, businesses and the public.
