Job summary

Covia is seeking a Logistics Coordinator in Independence, OH to manage export container shipments and support fleet maintenance for railcars in the U.S. and Canada. You will coordinate booking, resolve issues, and work with Customer Service, Operations, and Sales to meet client needs.

The role emphasizes data tracking, KPI reporting, and cost analysis, with opportunities to develop dashboards using MS PowerBI and use TMS/ERP systems. Hybrid work is offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in logistics or supply chain preferred.
• 1-3 years’ experience in supply chain or logistics is preferred, export logistics a plus.
• Experience with blue water carriers, railroads and freight forwarders is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Negotiate/export rates and secure favorable terms.
• Book shipments with internal teams to meet customer needs.
• Resolve schedule changes and canceled sailings promptly.
• Identify and select export logistics providers responsive to needs.
• Maintain Covia’s railcar fleet and coordinate repairs.
• Track railcar pipelines and report KPIs monthly.
• Develop and report export and fleet maintenance KPIs.
