B/CORE is seeking an Expert Systems Engineer in Herndon, VA to support mission-focused IT solutions and scalable data architectures. The role emphasizes data integration, analytics across networks, and secure information environments in government and defense contexts.

Ideal candidates will bring experience with data streams, Splunk, Python, and cloud/DevSecOps concepts to help modernize client missions while maintaining strict security and operational standards.

Qualifications

• Experience integrating diverse data streams.
• Experience with data transfer tools (Ex: NiFi, Cribl, etc).
• Establishes data standards and acts as custodian of IT and service delivery data sets and streams.
• Experience in analyzing complex networks and systems.
• Experience in analyzing log data from various network components and operating systems.
• Knowledge of the complex environment involving shared networks and multiple security enclaves.
• Systems Engineering with network analyst/engineering background.
• Ability to manage and troubleshoot data feeds, Splunk familiarization, Python.

Required Qualifications

What you can expect from us

• The expected salary range within the Washington, DC metropolitan area is: $170,000 - 195,000. Final compensation is unique to each individual and will be determined based on factors such as experience, education, geographic location, and contractual requirements. This is not a guarantee.
