9th Way Insignia is seeking an Expert ETL Developer to support a government customer in Washington, DC. The Expert ETL Developer will support enterprise data integration, reporting modernization, automation, and analytics initiatives across multiple business lines. This position aligns to the Engineer 3 professional level within 9th Way Insignia’s career families and is expected to operate as a senior, architecture‑aware technical resource supporting production delivery with minimal ramp‑up time.
An Engineer, 3 typically plans and directs research or development work on complex projects, engaging parties in design and development. The engineer may also be involved in cost estimations and recommendations of new components. An Engineer, 3 oversees design, development, implementation, and analysis of technical products and systems, leveraging broad engineering knowledge to resolve complex problems and applying strong technical skills, innovation, and problem‑solving to support production challenges.
The Expert ETL Developer serves as a senior technical contributor responsible for designing, developing, implementing, refining, and supporting complex ETL pipelines, data integration workflows, and transformation logic in support of enterprise reporting, analytics, and operational decision‑making. The role is architecturally minded, capable of designing scalable, automated, and performance‑optimized data solutions that support current and emerging workloads across business lines. It requires a deep understanding of data modeling, source‑to‑target mapping, business rule implementation, upstream and downstream impacts, and enterprise data governance.
Collaboration with Data Analysts, Power BI Developers, Power Apps Developers, Technical Project Managers, Scrum Masters, testers, technical writers, and Government stakeholders is essential to translate requirements into reliable technical solutions. The role also contributes to technical planning, ROM development, task breakdowns, documentation, and risk identification to support disciplined and predictable delivery.
