Job summary

Skyryse in Camarillo, CA is seeking an Experimental Test Pilot to bridge advanced engineering and real-world flight. You will execute rotorcraft flight tests, translate requirements into test strategies with engineers, and develop flight manuals and procedures for safe, efficient programs.

Ideal candidates hold 1,000+ PIC rotorcraft hours, a engineering degree, FAA Class II Medical, and strong communication. This full-time role offers growth in a dynamic aviation tech environment.

Responsibilities

• Execute experimental flight tests in a rotorcraft helicopter that directly shape the future of aviation.
• Partner with Flight Test Engineers to translate high-level requirements into executable test strategies, authoring test plans, cards, and procedures that move programs forward quickly and safely.
• Develop and maintain flight manuals, operations, checklists and procedures.
• Lead and/or participate in safety of flight and flight readiness review boards.
• Operate with regulatory rigor and startup velocity, completing documentation that meets FAA standards while enabling rapid iteration.
• Maintain elite proficiency across multiple aircraft platforms, ensuring readiness to support diverse test campaigns as programs evolve.

Education

Bachelor's or advanced degree in Aerospace Engineering or other engineering discipline

EXPERIMENTAL TEST PILOT - CAMARILLO, CA

As a Test Pilot within Skyryse Operations, you are the bridge between cutting-edge engineering and real-world flight. You’ll pair strong aviation fundamentals with sharp risk awareness and the communication skills required to translate complex flight scenarios into actionable insight.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Execute experimental flight tests in a rotorcraft helicopter that directly shape the future of aviation.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• 1,000+ hours of Pilot in Command flight time in Rotorcraft
• Bachelor's or advanced degree in Aerospace Engineering or other engineering discipline
• FAA Class II Medical
• Team player with excellent communication skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Graduate of Navy Test Pilot School, Empire Test Pilot School, or equivalent high-level formal course, or possess 5+ years of direct flight-test experience
• Three years of test pilot experience on developmental flight test programs

The posted salary range reflects the potential base pay for this role, adjusted to account for varying geographic markets. Final compensation will be based on factors such as your location, job-related skills, experience, and internal alignment, including equity and benefits.
