Job Overview

Primary Responsibilities

1. Weld components related to tank cars, including tanks, bolsters, underframes, and side sills.
2. Perform welding repairs using FCAW, GMAW (MIG), and GTAW (TIG) techniques, requiring 3+ years of experience.
3. Utilize air arc cutting torches and welding equipment for repairs.
4. Use hand tools to chip and grind welds, slag, or spatter.
5. Repair, straighten, and rework car parts such as brakes, underframes, and valves.
6. Conduct welding and mechanical repairs on tank and hopper cars as needed.
7. Maintain a clean and safe work environment.

Qualifications

• Pass the company's welding test.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Ability to read measurements and perform basic computations.
