Muddy Creek Animal Care Center in Rowley, MA is seeking an Experienced or Licensed Veterinary Technician to join a collaborative team. This full-time role requires at least two years of small animal surgical experience and offers strong growth, benefits, and a supportive work environment.

Qualifications

• Two years of small animal surgical experience.
• Licensed Veterinary Technician credential preferred, but experienced veterinary technicians are encouraged to apply.
• Strong knowledge of vaccines and preventive medicine.
• Experience obtaining patient histories and maintaining medical records.
• Confidence performing venipuncture and IV catheter placement.
• Experience administering and dispensing medications.
• Knowledge of pharmacology calculations.
• Excellent communication and client education skills.
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
• A positive, dependable, and collaborative attitude.
• A genuine passion for helping pets and the people who love them.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians during examinations, treatments, and surgical procedures.
• Prepare patients for surgery and provide attentive perioperative nursing care.
• Monitor anesthesia and patient recovery as directed.
• Obtain complete patient histories and maintain accurate medical records.
• Administer and dispense medications accurately.
• Perform pharmacology calculations.
• Collect blood samples and place intravenous catheters.
• Support preventive care appointments and client education.
• Administer vaccines and educate clients about preventive healthcare.
• Assist with laboratory procedures and diagnostic testing.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient treatment area.
• Collaborate with the veterinary team to provide exceptional patient care.
