Job summary

AmeriVet in Torrington, CT is seeking an experienced part-time Veterinary Technician or Veterinary Assistant to join our compassionate team. You will assist veterinarians, handle animals safely, and support client education in a busy practice.

The role offers alternating 3- and 4-day weeks with a rotating Saturday shift; pay ranges from $22 to $28 per hour based on experience, with opportunities for professional growth and benefits through AmeriVet.

Qualifications

• Preferably 3+ years’ experience as a veterinary technician or assistant.
• Strong animal handling skills and knowledge of clinical procedures.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Certification as Veterinary Technician (CVT/RVT/LVT) preferred or eligibility to obtain licensure.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians with exams, treatments, and surgical procedures.
• Safely handle and restrain animals; administer medications and vaccines.
• Collect lab samples and maintain accurate patient records.
• Educate clients on pet care and ensure a clean, organized work environment.

We are currently looking for an Experienced Part-Time Technician or Experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our team.

Qualifications

• preferably 3 or more years’ experience as a veterinary technician or assistant.

• Strong animal handling skills and knowledge of clinical procedures.

• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

• Veterinary Technician Certification (CVT, RVT, or LVT) preferred – or eligibility to obtain licensure based on state requirements.

• Degree from an AVMA-accredited Veterinary Technology program preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians with exams, treatments, and surgical procedures.

Pay Range:

$22.00- $28.00, based on experience

Schedule Requirements

• Alternating weeks of 3-day and 4-day work weeks.
• 4th day worked will be a Saturday shift. Must be able to work a rotation of alternating Saturdays.
