Ayers Animal Hospital in Huntington, WV is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to support our doctors in daily patient care, triage, and nursing tasks. The role involves restraining pets, collecting lab samples, reviewing medical histories, and assisting with radiographs and anesthesia monitoring.

Qualifications

• Experienced Veterinary Assistant with 1+ year preferred.
• Compassionate, calm, team player, multitasker and strong communicator.
• Able to restrain pets properly.
• Proficient in sample collection, medical histories, radiographs and anesthesia monitoring bonus.

Responsibilities

• Pet restraint and triage of incoming patients.
• Collection and analysis of lab samples, diagnostic imaging.
• Nursing care of medical and hospitalized cases with varying stability.
• Administration of medications and communication of treatment plans with clients.
• Surgical preparation and assistance; anesthetic management.
