Quality Veterinary Care is a well‑established, progressive, fast‑paced 4‑doctor general small animal practice located in Elmont, NY. We offer many services to provide the best comprehensive care to our patients including Preventative Care, Surgery, Dentistry, In‑House Diagnostics, Digital full body and dental radiology, and Ultrasonography. The practice is located just outside the bustling New York City center on Long Island, with easy commute options via the Long Island Railroad. Elmont K‑6 public schools are highly rated, providing a family‑friendly environment with excellent educational options and local amenities such as Belmont Park Racetrack, beaches, and diverse restaurants.

• Mon: 9AM - 8PM
• Tues: 9AM - 8PM
• Wed: 9AM - 7PM
• Thurs: 9AM - 8PM
• Fri: 9AM - 8PM
• Sat & Sun: 9AM - 2PM

Job Description

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: pet restraint; triage incoming patients; collection and analysis of laboratory samples; diagnostic imaging; management and nursing care of medical and hospitalized cases with varying degrees of stability; administration of medications; effective communication of treatment plans with clients; surgical preparation and assistance; and anesthetic management. Must be able to withstand unpleasant odors and noises, and may be exposed to bites, scratches, animal waste and potentially contagious diseases. Opportunities for growth are available through virtual and hands‑on training and continuing development.

Qualifications

• Veterinary Assistant with a minimum of 1 year of experience preferred.
• Compassionate, calm, team player, multi‑tasker, and strong communicator.
• Must be able to properly restrain pets.
• Proficiency in sample collection, obtaining medical histories, processing laboratory tests and radiographs, and anesthesia monitoring is a bonus.

Pay & Schedule

Pay Range: $23‑$25/hr depending on experience.

Schedule: Weekend shifts required.
