Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance (BHSI) is seeking a senior level Commercial Surety Underwriter for the Atlanta region. You will underwrite a commercial surety book, analyze credit quality, and grow broker and customer relationships in the territory.

The role requires 5+ years of underwriting experience in commercial surety, strong teamwork, and excellent communication skills. Travel within the territory is expected as needed.

Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance (BHSI) has an exciting opportunity for a senior level Commercial Surety Underwriter. Position will be responsible for regional commercial surety business and ideally positioned in our Houston, Atlanta, or Plymouth Meeting offices, but other locations will be considered.

The senior level Commercial Underwriter will be responsible for the underwriting of accounts including pre-qualifying new business, analyzing credit quality, and utilizing underwriting expertise to make sound decisions regarding terms, conditions, and pricing. This position will be a market-facing representative responsible for the development and growth of the Commercial Surety line of business within the region. The Experienced Underwriter will also be responsible for identifying and developing broker and customer relationships.

The base salary range for this position is from $120,000.00 to $200,000.00, along with annual bonus eligibility; a candidate’s salary is determined by their relevant skills and experience. We value our teammates – both their capabilities and character – as demonstrated by our amazing culture.
