PRIDE Learning Co. is seeking an experienced in-home Reading Tutor for Redondo Beach, CA 90277.

This part-time role involves delivering 1:1 reading tutoring sessions, following scripted lesson plans focused on phonics and literacy, and using PRIDE's learning tools to guide instruction. The ideal candidate will have prior experience with school-age students, be comfortable with technology, and able to commute to the student's location.

Qualifications

• Experience as instructional assistant, ABA therapist, paraprofessional, teacher, substitute teacher, or related roles is a plus.
• Must have access to an electronic device (e.g., laptop) for conducting lessons.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 tutoring sessions focused on improving reading and literacy.
• Follow scripted lesson plans covering phonics, spelling, fluency, and comprehension.
• Use PRIDE learning technologies and resources to enhance instruction.
• Manage session time to keep lessons positive and focused.
• Adapt teaching strategies to meet diverse learning needs, including those with special education requirements.
• Maintain prompt and consistent communication with PRIDE staff about student progress and adjustments to plans.

Reading Tutor for PRIDE Learning Co.

Location: Redondo Beach, CA (Zip Code: 90277)

Position: in-home Reading Tutor (Part-Time, 2 hours per week)

Rate: $30 per hour

Schedule: 2 60-minute lessons per week choosing from: Mon/Tue/Thur between 3:30-6:30pm

We are currently seeking an experienced, enthusiastic, and reliable tutor to join our team teaching at-home lessons in Redondo Beach, CA 90277

Ideal Candidate:

• Ready to be trained to implement our multisensory reading program
• Experience working with school-age students and a passion for teaching
• Ability to create and maintain a positive and engaging learning environment
• Strong rapport-building skills with students
• Comfortable using electronic devices, such as a laptop, for lessons
• Excellent communication skills, with an ability to motivate students
• Able to commute to the student's location in Redondo Beach, 90277
• Committed to establishing and maintaining a long-term professional tutoring relationship with the student

• Follow scripted lesson plans tailored to each student’s needs, covering phonics, spelling, fluency, comprehension, and writing
• Use PRIDE's learning technologies and resources to enhance instruction
• Manage session time effectively, ensuring a positive and focused learning environment
• Adapt teaching strategies to meet diverse learning needs, including those with special education requirements
• Must be proactive in maintaining prompt and consistent communication with PRIDE staff to discuss student progress, challenges, and any necessary adjustments to the tutoring plan

Qualifications:

• Experience as an instructional assistant, ABA therapist, paraprofessional, teacher, substitute teacher, graduate student in education, or speech therapist assistant is a plus
• Must have access to an electronic device (such as a laptop) for conducting lessons
