Job summary

Joshua Tree Experts seeks a Tree Climber to join a 2–4 person crew in Potomac Valley, assisting in tree removal, pruning, and preservation. You will be a primary communicator for the crew, clients, and the public near job sites, focusing on safe operations and equipment care.

The role requires at least 4 years of tree climbing experience, a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver's license, and knowledge of aerial lift operations. Availability for full-time hours is expected.

Responsibilities

• Safety & Standards: Maintain strong safety culture and follow ANSI standards for tree care.
• Crew & Site Leadership: Delegate tasks and communicate with crew leader and team.
• Equipment & Vehicle Care: Maintain and inspect assigned vehicles and equipment.
• Client & Public Relations: Maintain professional image and communicate with clients and public.

As a Tree Climber with Joshua Tree Experts, you will play an extremely important role on a 2-to-4-person crew, assisting in tree removal, tree pruning, and general tree preservation techniques. Climbers are responsible for ensuring safe operations, maintaining assigned vehicles and equipment, and delegating work to Groundsman Operations Specialists. In this position, you will serve as a key communicator for the crew, clients, and the public near the job site.

Key Responsibilities

• Safety & Standards: Maintain a strong commitment to company safety culture; understand and adhere to ANSI standards for tree care operations; execute safe aerial lift and tree climbing procedures.
• Crew & Site Leadership: Delegate tasks effectively to Groundsman Operations Specialists; follow directions from and communicate clearly with the crew leader and team members.
• Equipment & Vehicle Care: Properly maintain, inspect, and care for assigned vehicles and tree care equipment.
• Client & Public Relations: Maintain a professional image on the job site; deliver excellent customer service; communicate effectively with clients and nearby members of the public.

Qualifications & Requirements

Minimum Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED
• At least 4 years of tree climbing experience
• Valid driver's license
• Understanding of aerial lift operations
• Availability to work at least 40 hours per week

Preferred Qualifications (The Best Candidate):

• Degree in Forestry or Horticulture
• ISA Certified Arborist
