Job summary

Alexander Chapman Ltd is seeking an experienced transactional attorney to join its legal team in Los Angeles to support a growing investment platform. The role will work closely with investment professionals on sophisticated credit and financing transactions.

Responsibilities include advising on complex deals, managing execution from term sheets to closing, drafting and negotiating financing documents, and coordinating with internal teams. 4–7 years of transactional experience and a J.D.

Qualifications

• 4–7 years of transactional legal experience.
• Strong background in finance, credit, structured transactions and/or alternative investments.
• Experience drafting and negotiating sophisticated financing and transaction documentation.
• Strong commercial judgment and ability to work directly with investment professionals.
• Experience at a leading law firm, financial institution and/or alternative investment manager.
• J.D. and admission to practice in the relevant jurisdiction.

Responsibilities

• Advise investment teams on complex credit, financing and investment transactions.
• Manage legal execution from initial structuring and term sheets through documentation, closing and ongoing portfolio matters.
• Draft and negotiate credit agreements, purchase agreements, financing documents, joint venture agreements and other transaction documentation.
• Support a variety of financing structures, investment transactions and portfolio activities.
• Work closely with Investment, Compliance, Finance, Operations and other internal teams.
• Manage outside counsel and help develop legal processes and infrastructure as the platform continues to grow.
