H&R Block is hiring a seasonal Experienced Tax Professional in Savannah, GA. You will prepare comprehensive tax returns, interview clients to understand complex financials, and offer personalized recommendations while building trusted relationships.

You will provide IRS support, audit guidance, and explore tax savings opportunities, supported by industry-leading training and technology. This is an in-office, client-facing role at a local tax office.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 1 year of tax prep or related experience.
• Experience in client-facing, advisory roles preferred.
• Ability to explain tax concepts clearly to clients.
• Must meet IRS/state requirements for continued education.

Required Qualifications

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment1
• Minimum 1 year of experience in tax preparation, accounting, finance, or bookkeeping, including preparing individual and business returns
• Experience working in a client facing, consultative, or advisory role
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain tax concepts in client-friendly language
• Must complete continuing education and meet all other IRS and applicable state requirements
• High school diploma / GED / equivalent required

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or a related field
• 5+ years of experience in tax preparation, accounting, finance, bookkeeping
• CPA or Enrolled Agent (EA), or other IRS Circular 230 credential
• Experience completing complex returns, tax planning, audit support, or tax notice resolution
• Familiarity with GoSystem or Ultratax software
• Familiarity with AI-powered tools (e.g., Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT)
• Experience in a consultative or advisory client relationship role (financial advising, insurance, or professional services)
