H&R Block, Inc. in Missouri is seeking an experienced tax professional to prepare returns for individuals and businesses, conduct client interviews, and identify tax savings opportunities.

You'll deliver consultative service in a friendly, in-person office setting with strong training and support. The role focuses on accurate tax filing, IRS support, and developing long-term client relationships while leveraging software such as GoSystem or Ultratax.

Formación

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment
• Minimum 1 year of experience in tax preparation, accounting, finance, or bookkeeping, including preparing individual and business returns
• Experience working in a client facing, consultative, or advisory role
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain tax concepts in client-friendly language
• Must complete continuing education and meet all other IRS and applicable state requirements
• High school diploma / GED / equivalent required

About the Role

As a seasonal Experienced Tax Professional at H&R Block, you are a trusted advisor who helps clients navigate complex tax situations with confidence. You'll use your expertise to prepare accurate returns, uncover savings opportunities, and build lasting client relationships — backed by industry-leading training and technology, a competitive hourly rate, and an incentive plan that rewards your impact as you build your tax expertise and serve clients. Required Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or a related field


• 5+ years of experience in tax preparation, accounting, finance, bookkeeping


• CPA or Enrolled Agent (EA), or other IRS Circular 230 credential


• Experience completing complex returns, tax planning, audit support, or tax notice resolution


• Familiarity with GoSystem or Ultratax software


• Familiarity with AI-powered tools (e.g., Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT)


• Experience in a consultative or advisory client relationship role (financial advising, insurance, or professional services)
