Job summary

H&R Block in Boca Raton, FL is seeking an experienced Seasonal Tax Professional to guide clients through complex tax scenarios in person at a local tax office. You will prepare returns, interview clients, and identify savings opportunities with our training and technology.

You’ll collaborate with the team to deliver empathetic, consultative service, handle IRS notices when needed, and help clients build confidence in their finances throughout the season.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year in tax preparation or related field, including individual and business returns.
• Experience in client-facing, consultative or advisory role.
• Strong verbal and written communication; ability to explain tax concepts to clients.
• Must complete continuing education and meet IRS/state requirements.
• High school diploma or GED required.

As a seasonal Experienced Tax Professional at H&R Block, you are a trusted advisor who helps clients navigate complex tax situations with confidence. Required Qualifications

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment1
• Minimum 1 year of experience in tax preparation, accounting, finance, or bookkeeping, including preparing individual and business returns
• Experience working in a client facing, consultative, or advisory role
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain tax concepts in client-friendly language
• Must complete continuing education and meet all other IRS and applicable state requirements
• High school diploma / GED / equivalent required

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or a related field
• 5+ years of experience in tax preparation, accounting, finance, bookkeeping
• CPA or Enrolled Agent (EA), or other IRS Circular 230 credential
• Experience completing complex returns, tax planning, audit support, or tax notice resolution
• Familiarity with GoSystem or Ultratax software
• Familiarity with AI-powered tools (e.g., Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT)
• Experience in a consultative or advisory client relationship role (financial advising, insurance, or professional services)
