Job summary

Grassland Dairy Products, Inc. is seeking an Experienced Stainless Welder Fabricator - 1st shift in West Point, NE. You will take piping layouts from layout to final weld with emphasis on food-grade stainless welding.

The ideal candidate reads blueprints, fabricates and welds industrial piping systems, and supports maintenance tasks in a food manufacturing setting. Competitive pay, a hire bonus, and strong benefits are offered.

Description

We are looking for someone who can be trusted to take a piping assignment from layout and fit-up through final weld and installation while maintaning high standards for food quality, productivity and safety.

This is not an entry-level welding positoin, we need a strong background in food grade stainless welding and fabrication. We are looking for a proven tradesperson who can fit, fabricate and weld industrial piping systems with minimal supervision. Qualified candidates should have be capable of working from blueprints, piping schematics and field measurements. Ideal canddiate will also have experience with industrial maitenance and troubleshooting.

Schedule:

7:00 am - 3:30pm

5 day work week. Monday - Fridayand every other weekend (Saturday, Sunday). One set day off during each week.

Pay:

$28- $37Dependent on Experience; Review in 90-days; $2,000 Hire Bonus; Double time Sundays

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Utilize welding and metal fabrication skills to fabricate, repair, and modify plant equipment, structures, and components, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and food manufacturing standards.
• High standards for workmanship, accuracy, and safety.
• Ability to independently perform pipe layout, measurement, fit-up, fabrication and insallation.
• Ability to identify and correct fit-up and welding problems without constant supervison.
• Knowledge of applicable welding procedures, quality requirements and industrial safety practices.
• Strong understanding of piping components, fittings, flanges, valves, supports and filed installation practices.
• Ability to read, inerpret and apply blueprints,piping schematics and field measurements

Position Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Industrial welding and fabrication in food grade facility (stainless steel experience).
• Demonstrateproficiency with TIG pipe welding.
• Attention to detail and good organizational skills.
• Ability to adapt effectively within a continually changing and demanding environment.
• Basic understanding of equipment operations, and minor troubleshooting ability.
• Must be able to demonstrate an ability and willingness to communicate effectively in English in order to maintain high levels of safety, quality, and efficiency.
• Ability to read and comprehend standard operating procedures and company guidelines in English in order to maintain regulatory compliance.
• Able to obtain licenses for and operate powered industrial equipment at a safe level.
• Must be able to climb ladders and work from heights.

Education/Experience:

AWS certifications, formal welding training, or a completed apprenticeship are valued; however, demonstrated field ability and quality of workmanship are the primary considerations.

• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
• Experience with industrial welding and fabrication required (TIG).
