Job summary

EMCOR Group, Central Mechanical Construction, seeks an experienced Service Plumber for commercial and industrial plumbing maintenance, repairs, and emergency troubleshooting. You will work on a 24/7 schedule, communicate with customers, document work, and deliver high-quality service across multiple client sites.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in plumbing, strong knowledge of codes and safety, and the ability to read blueprints.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or trade school certification preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of commercial or industrial plumbing experience, or equivalent training.
  • Strong knowledge of plumbing systems, codes, safety practices, and troubleshooting methods.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and work instructions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to use mobile devices and business software (Microsoft Office, etc.).
  • Familiarity with OSHA standards and company safety practices.
  • Daily local travel between client sites required.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, repair, and maintain commercial and industrial plumbing systems, including: water supply lines, drainage systems, fixtures and valves, pumps and associated components.
  • Perform preventative maintenance including inspections, cleaning, flow testing, and component replacement.
  • Repair or replace fixtures such as sinks, toilets, faucets, disposals, and water heaters.
  • Diagnose and clear blockages in drains, sewers, and vent systems using proper tools and equipment.
  • Inspect and repair leaks in pipes, fittings, and fixtures.
  • Install, repair, and maintain backflow preventers (if certified).
  • Identify root causes of plumbing failures and recommend corrective actions.
  • Complete all assigned work orders thoroughly, including notes, materials used, and recommendations.
  • Use company-issued technology (tablet, smartphone) for documentation and communication.
  • Submit accurate timesheets, expenses, and purchase logs.
  • Prepare detailed Service Reports and ensure quality of all work performed.
  • Maintain regular communication with customers, dispatch, and internal support teams.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Job Summary

Central Mechanical Construction is seeking an experienced, full‑time Service Plumber to perform preventative, corrective, and emergency maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of commercial and industrial plumbing systems. This role requires strong technical ability, professionalism, and leadership. As a 24/7 service organization, occasional work beyond 40 hours per week may be required.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Plumbing Maintenance & Repair

  • Diagnose, repair, and maintain commercial and industrial plumbing systems, including:
  • Water supply lines
  • Drainage systems
  • Fixtures and valves
  • Pumps and associated components
  • Perform preventative maintenance including inspections, cleaning, flow testing, and component replacement.

  • Perform basic pipefitting and soldering, threading, or brazing as required.
  • Assist in minor HVAC or electrical tasks as permitted under state regulations.
  • Participate in asset inspections and system condition assessments.

  • Complete all assigned work orders thoroughly, including notes, materials used, and recommendations.
  • Use company‑issued technology (tablet, smartphone) for documentation and communication.
  • Submit accurate timesheets, expenses, and purchase logs.
  • Prepare detailed Service Reports and ensure quality of all work performed.
  • Maintain regular communication with customers, dispatch, and internal support teams.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Physical Demands

  • Regular standing, walking, bending, kneeling, crawling, and climbing.
  • Ability to lift/move 25 lbs regularly, 50 lbs frequently, and 75 lbs occasionally.
