Full Job Description
Eligibility Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse (licensed in Georgia). Candidates must also be certified as a Train‑the‑Trainer, American Heart CPR Instructor. All credentials must be provided for verification before the interview.
Applicants should have a comprehensive knowledge of the Certified Nurse’s Assistant profession and its relationship to other medical professions. They must demonstrate excellent written and oral communication and people skills. Minimum 3 years of full‑time in‑field work experience as an LPN or RN within the last five years.
Teaching Schedule
- Daytime class 9 AM–1:30 PM (day shift, including clinicals)
- Evening class 1:45 PM–6 PM (evening shift)
The RN/LPN teacher must have experience in one of the following categories: LPN, PCT, or CNA (with at least two years experience in a long‑term care facility).
Responsibilities and Duties
- Prepare lessons, evaluate students, and maintain records.
- Build a curriculum based on guidelines set by the Georgia Nurse Aide Training Program.
- Provide classroom instruction and supervision.
- Teach basic first aid, vital signs, and proper lifting procedures.
- Educate students on patient record keeping and primary care tasks such as bathing, cleaning, and hygiene.
- Provide hands‑on training in nursing or long‑term care facilities, hospitals, and other healthcare operations.
- Supervise students in clinical experiences at the internship site.
- Offer one‑on‑one training or lectures to ensure mastery of job demands.
- Administer and grade examinations, assignments, skill assessments, and clinical evaluations.
- Enforce rules and policies governing student conduct and standards of behavior.
- Ensure students achieve satisfactory performance of critical knowledge and skills before performing patient care activities.
- Prepare students to pass the CNA certification examination.
- Maintain supplies and equipment and report deficiencies or hazards.
- Demonstrate appropriate subject knowledge.
- Ensure compliance with reporting and data‑tracking requirements.
- Coordinate clinical assignments with facilities.
- Supervise students in class, lab, and clinical settings.
- Maintain collegial relationships with clinical faculty and meet facility requirements.
- Facilitate day‑to‑day operations of practical nurse classroom or clinical, including instruction, assessments, and attendance tracking.
- Stay current in nursing and participate in professional development.
Qualifications and Skills (Preferred)
- At least one year of teaching experience (preferred but not required).
- At least two years of experience in the field.
- Strong desire to help others achieve their personal goals.
- Enthusiastic and optimistic attitude.
- Proficiency with PowerPoint and Microsoft Word.
Compensation and Employment Details
- Pay: $18–$20 per hour.
