Job summary

A leading energy solutions firm in Georgia is seeking an experienced Relay Protection Controls Engineer to design and procure protective relaying equipment for substations and transmission lines. This full-time role requires 4+ years in the utilities or energy sector and a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering. A PE Certification is preferred. The position offers an estimated salary range of $115,000.00 to $130,000.00 annually.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (ABET accredited).
  • 4+ years’ experience in Utilities or Energy industry.
  • Familiar with: ETAP, WinIGS, IEEE 88/998.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Inventor, MicroStation, or Bentley Substation.
  • PE Certification preferred.
  • Knowledge of SCADA, relay settings, RTU configuration, and protection & controls is a plus.
  • Experience with electric utility or petrochemical sectors.
  • BSEE with 6+ years’ experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for designing and procuring protective relaying equipment for substations, switchyards, and transmission lines.
  • Ensures project scope adherence and updates.
  • Collaborates closely with the client’s team to meet standards.
  • Provides on-site support during construction when needed.

Job Summary:

The Relay Protection and Controls Engineer is responsible for designing and procuring protective relaying equipment for substations, switchyards, and transmission lines.
