The Clinical Staff Nurse acts as a champion of quality patient care and a professional caregiver who demonstrates critical thinking skills and scientific judgment in anticipating and planning for the care of patients in assigned areas. The Clinical Staff Nurse performs competent nursing practice and consistently demonstrates the nursing process—assessment, diagnosis, identification of outcomes, planning, implementation, coordination of care, teaching, health promotion, and evaluation. The role upholds high standards of professional performance, including ethics, cultural diversity, communication, collaboration, evidence‑based practice, nursing research, quality, resource utilization, and environmental health. The nursing practice aligns with the JHS CARE Model, holding accountability for planning, implementing, evaluating, and communicating all phases of patient care.
