The Champaign County State's Attorney's Office is seeking an experienced attorney licensed in Illinois for an Assistant State's Attorney position. The candidate will be skilled in trial advocacy, communication, organization, and technology, and must exercise good judgment and be willing to represent the office in court and with the public.

This role includes primary responsibility for preparing jury and bench trials, handling motions and plea negotiations in criminal cases of normal to advanced

Qualifications

• Illinois license to practice law is required.
• Minimum of 3 years post-law school experience.
• Experience in prosecution, litigation, criminal law, social services, or related fields.

Responsibilities

• Prepare jury and bench trials, including motion practice and plea negotiations.
• Represent the office in court and with the public.
• Coordinate with victim advocates and law enforcement, including preparing search warrants.
