Job summary

Scarpelli & Associates Physical Therapy is a long-established legacy physical therapy practice located at 4200 18th Street in the heart of the Castro neighborhood in San Francisco, California. As one of the longest standing physical therapy practices in the Bay Area, the clinic has a very strong reputation in San Francisco for patient-centered care and our skilled physical therapists who resolve complicated orthopedic issues for good! The team specializes in hands on therapy, and emphasizes high-quality, individualized treatment. The practice serves a diverse community and is committed to helping patients improve function, reduce pain, and return to meaningful activities.

Role Description

This full-time Physical Therapist role is an on-site position based in San Francisco, CA. The Physical Therapist will evaluate patients, develop evidence-based treatment plans, and provide manual therapy and therapeutic exercise to address musculoskeletal and functional impairments. Daily responsibilities include documenting care accurately, communicating progress with patients and referring providers, and adjusting treatment plans as needed to optimize outcomes. The role also involves educating patients on injury prevention, home exercise programs, and self-management strategies, while maintaining a safe and welcoming clinical environment. Collaboration with other clinicians and participation in practice improvement initiatives are expected.

Qualifications

• Licensed (or license-eligible) Physical Therapist in the state of California; Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) or equivalent degree from an accredited program.
• Strong clinical skills in manual therapy, therapeutic exercise, and functional movement assessment.
• Ability to perform thorough patient evaluations, develop individualized care plans, and use evidence-based treatment approaches.
• Competence in clinical documentation, basic computer skills, and use of electronic health records. We use SPRY PT as our EHR, with integrated AI dictation to help with notes.
• A strong commitment to ethical, inclusive, and non-discriminatory care, with respect for all gender identities, backgrounds, and abilities.
• Time-management and organizational skills to manage a full caseload while maintaining quality standards.
• Prior outpatient orthopedic or manual therapy experience preferred; relevant continuing education or certifications are a plus.
