Position Overview

The Central Staffing Department supports our network campuses to ensure appropriate staffing levels, enabling our PCAs to provide top-quality care. The Network Float (Central Staffing) PCA is an experienced professional motivated by the challenge of providing care across multiple clinical settings within the network. Responsibilities include patient care, data collection, planning, and implementation of care.

Qualifications
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in an inpatient hospital setting.
  • Experience working in an Acute Care (Med Surg) setting.
  • Ability to travel to at least 5 network campuses.

Shift Details

Positions are available for evening or night shifts, based on network needs.

Application Requirements
  • Full-time (36 or 40 hours/week) or part-time (less than 36 hours/week).
  • Ability to complete 6 consecutive days of initial orientation, including unit-specific training.
  • Availability for holiday and weekend shifts as per unit and company policies.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Perform tasks such as vital signs, intake/output measurements, EKGs, glucometry, phlebotomy, specimen collection, and documentation.
  • Follow treatment plans as directed by licensed personnel.
  • Ensure patient comfort and satisfaction.
  • Assist with patient mobilization using proper body mechanics and assistive devices.
  • Provide safe, appropriate, and quality patient care.
  • Communicate changes in patient conditions and unit concerns to the team.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and complete required competencies.
  • Assist in orienting and educating new staff members.
Physical and Sensory Requirements

Ability to sit up to 7 hours, stand for up to 10 hours, walk for 6 hours, lift objects up to 75 lbs, and transport patients weighing up to 400 lbs. Must perceive attributes through touch, hear normal and high/low frequencies, and see general, near, far, color, and peripheral vision.

Education and Experience
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Healthcare specialty training preferred.
  • One year of recent inpatient hospital experience required.
  • Basic computer skills required.
  • Completion of BLS certification within 60 days of employment.
  • Participation in APC and MT courses or proven previous training through competency testing.
