Job summary

The Cleveland Clinic Akron General is seeking an experienced Experience Registered Nurse (RN) for the Operating Room to deliver high-quality perioperative care. RNs scrub and circulate across service lines, supported by a 6-month orientation and opportunities for rotations on specialty call teams.

Minimum qualifications include ADN/BSN, RN licensure in Ohio, and BLS certification, with annual clinical competencies required. The role requires full-time commitment in a fast-paced surgical setting.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (ADN or BSN).
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Successfully complete mandatory clinical competencies annually.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care.
• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate care for a given patient population.
• Assessments: complete ongoing assessments, recognize changes in patient condition and respond appropriately.
• Planning: develop and update goals, involve patients and families in developing plans of care, coordinating the interdisciplinary plan of care and serve as a patient advocate.
• Implementation: provide nursing care, administer treatments and medication and document.
• Evaluation: participate in ongoing interdisciplinary evaluation of patient/family outcomes, contribute to the improvement of care and participate in the quality improvement process.
• Leadership/professional development: delegate tasks/assignments, mentor, pursue ongoing education and certifications.
