The Clinical Staff Nurse functions as a champion of quality patient care and professional caregiver who demonstrates critical thinking skills and scientific judgment in anticipating and planning for patient care. The CSN is responsible for performing at a competent level of nursing and consistently applying the nursing process, which includes assessment, diagnosis, identification of outcomes, planning, implementation, coordination of care, teaching, health promotion, and evaluation. The CSN also upholds the highest standards of professional performance—ethics, cultural diversity, communication, collaboration, evidence‑based practice, nursing research, quality, resource utilization, and environmental health. The CSN will function within the JHS CARE Model, which covers planning, implementing, evaluating, and communicating all phases of nursing care for assigned patients, applying clinical knowledge and skills to meet required standards in specific clinical areas.
Miami, FL – On Call/Pool Recovery Unit
Generally requires 1 to 3 years of related experience.
Associate's degree in Nursing is required. A BSN degree is preferred. Any employee who will be performing point‑of‑care testing in the operating room, neuro‑ICU, NICU, PICU, pedi‑ER, cath lab, or interventional radiology areas must have the educational degree verified at the time of hire. The minimum education level required is an Associate's degree.

Unit‑specific competencies: must have clinical knowledge, skill, and ability to fully and accurately complete all required unit competencies, as indicated in the unit competency check‑list.
Valid Florida RN license is required. American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) and any additional applicable life‑support certification for healthcare providers are required upon hire, with at least 6 months validity and maintenance at JHS for the duration of employment. Must meet and maintain current unit‑specific and organizational skills, competencies, certifications, and licenses as required by the nursing area.
The job function requires extended standing or walking. Must be able to carry objects weighing 21 to 50 pounds and lift or move objects weighing 51 to 100 pounds with appropriate devices. Requires frequent visual acuity for extended computer use.
