Job summary

Howell Laboratories, Inc in Gorham, Maine seeks an Experienced Night Machinist for our ESOP-owned shop. The role offers a predictable night schedule (3:30 pm–2:00 am, Mon–Thu) with overtime Friday and a $4,000 sign-on bonus paid after milestones.

You’ll join a small, dependable team and set up CNC programs on the floor. GD&T proficiency is essential to ensure exact conformance, with opportunities to mentor juniors and collaborate with ODAT engineers to improve paths and reduce scrap.

Qualifications

• Journeyman status or equivalent technical engineering degree.
• 7+ years of advanced CNC precision machining experience (preferred).
• GD&T rules and advanced multi-axis machining applications.

Responsibilities

• Perform intricate, first-article machine configurations and modify CNC code directly on the floor for ODAT jobs.
• Interpret advanced Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) maps to secure exact part conformance.
• Provide technical setup support and mentoring to junior operators inside the ODAT division.
• Partner with ODAT division engineers to improve machining paths and reduce material scrap rates.
