Job summary

Vanity Fur Austin is seeking an Experienced Pet Groomer to join our passionate mobile grooming team. Our route is preset and recurring, with no sales, no appointment setting, and no phone answering.

On average, groomers earn between $50,000 and $60,000 per year, with Base Pay + Commission + Tips, and a flexible schedule. We offer a SAFE and COMFORTABLE mobile grooming experience, modern vans, and a positive, supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• At least three (3) years of previous experience as a dog groomer.
• Comfort working with all breeds and sizes of dogs; familiarity with breed-specific clips is a plus.
• Genuine passion for working with pets.
• Strong attention to detail to ensure top-notch grooming results.
• Professional communication skills with clientele.
• Willingness to learn new techniques and engage in continuing education.

Responsibilities

• Brushing and detangling or removing matted fur.
• Bathing dogs and ensuring coat is properly dried.
• Executing a variety of clipping techniques and styles based on breed and owner preferences.
• Thoroughly examining dogs for skin conditions.
• Safely trimming nails using a Dremmel.
• Maintaining safety of dogs throughout grooming process.
• Adhering to sanitary and cleaning procedures.
• Communicating effectively with pet owners.
• Prioritizing pet well-being by grooming safely and comfortably.
• Working with an average of 5-7 dogs per day.
• Minimum 8-hour workdays.
• Keeping the mobile unit clean and organized, prepping for the next day.
• Driving to clients' houses with short travel time between stops.
