Job summary

The Boeing Company in Oklahoma City seeks an Experienced Mechanical Systems Design & Analysis Engineer to join the Air Vehicle Engineering team. You will lead mechanical, fluid and thermal system design efforts for Mobility, Surveillance and Bombers programs, serving as SME for fuels systems of the B-52 and supporting sustainment.

Onsite work is required; relocation may be offered. Candidates should have a BS in Engineering and 5+ years in mechanical design, with CAD/CAM experience (CATIA).

Experienced Mechanical Systems Design & Analysis Engineer

The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) organization is seekingan Experienced Mechanical System Design & Analysis Engineer to join the Air Vehicle Engineering team located in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

A successful member of this team will understand and execute modifications and upgrades for the Mobility, Surveillance, and Bombers (MS&B) programs. The successful candidate will serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the Fuels system of the B-52, providing expertise in design and sustainment.

Position Responsibilities
  • Lead the development and documentation of mechanical and fluid system and thermal environment
  • Lead the development, maintenance or modification of system designs/proposals to provide design documentation and high-level requirements to downstream users/customers
  • Perform detailed design development and modification of mechanical and fluid system installations
  • Prepare technical documents for mechanical components and systems
  • Prepare proposal and new business development efforts
  • Work with test program management for work estimation and intake process
  • Delegate tasks to design team and provide supervision to junior engineers.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite in Oklahoma City, OK.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus on Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace Aeronautical or Material Sciences)
  • 5+ years of experience in mechanical system design
  • Practical experience and knowledge of Fuels, Hydraulic Systems, or ECS.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)
  • Experience with and proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience reading and interpreting engineering schematics, and specifications
  • Experience performing Mechanical System Design and Analysis
  • 3+ years of experience designing tooling using CAD/CAM software, preferably CATIA
  • Experience producing technical reports and presentations
  • Strong written, verbal communications and presentation skills
  • Familiarity with engineering processes and methods
  • Experience working with cross functional teams.
